These two pieces sound very different. Computers follow different math rules to make these sounds. Computation is neutral. The composer’s decisions create the work’s mood and character.
Part3‑ Concluding Observations
Xenakis judges music by “wisdom” instead of simple beauty. Wisdom means clear structure, original ideas and creative logic. Music does not need to sound nice to be valuable. Qualities like inventiveness, vitality and creativity matter more. Computer‑assisted music gives us new ways to understand what music can be.
